Anika Subah Ahmad Upoma
Anika Subah Ahmad Upoma is a young UN activist, writer and public speaker, who graduated from Department of English, University of Dhaka. Being the Founding President of a youth Organization ‘Evolution360’, Anika Subah Ahmad Upoma is working to implement SDG 5 (gender equality) in Bangladesh, with UN Women. She has previously worked with UNV as an online volunteer & got selected as a Global Champion of UN Women in 2016 . As a social activist, she is replicating the #HeForShe campaign in Bangladesh from UN. For contribution in women empowerment & Youth development, she got awarded as one of the “10 Brave women in Bangladesh” from WEAB by the US Ambassador in 2016. She served the Government by working as a Delegation Liaision Officer at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh. Upoma is also a faculty of IELTS & Spoken English in ‘Saifurs Private Limited’ & conducted a number of corporate trainings on Presentation skills & public speaking. She was also a Phonetics & English trainer of Bangladesh Policy, Army & Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). She received more than 20 awards in different national & international conferences representing Bangladesh. She is a mentor at the Department of English, University of Dhaka, and pursuing her MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT at University of Dhaka. Upoma is the Country Representative of a South African organization ‘Global institute for Women Empowerment” since 2016. Being a corporate trainer & writer, she successfully conducted 3 workshops being a key-note speaker in national & international platforms.
